Bodie - Ghost town

Bodie is a ghost town up on the Sierra Nevada, California.
During the gold and silver rush in the 19th century the city had around 10.000 inhabitants and 2.000 buildings, including 65 saloons and several brothels.
The town started to decline in 1890 and officially became a ghost town in 1915.
The last residents left the town in 1942, and it has been abandoned ever since.
Today Bodie is a state historic park and is open to the public for tours.
I's mantained in a so called "arrested decay" status.

Bodie is a fascinating place to explore. The town is well-preserved, and visitors can see how it once looked during the gold rush era.
Only a small part of the town survived, with about 110 structures still standing, including one of many once operational gold mills.
Visitors can explore saloons, brothels, gambling halls, and other buildings.
Bodie is also a great place to learn about the history of the Wild West. The town was a lawless place, and visitors can learn about the shootouts and murders that took place there. There are also a number of museums and interpretive centers in Bodie that provide information about the town's history.
Bodie Ghost Town is a must-see for anyone interested in the Wild West. It is a unique place that offers a glimpse into a bygone era.
