Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory, in the heart of the so called Australian Red Centre.

It is around 350 meters high but it is 7 km deep.

Uluru is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area, and for this reason, starting from October 2019, climbing will finally be forbidden.
